Spinner dolphins are a common sight in the Maldives
Spinner dolphins live in the waters around the Maldives and are often seen in the evening, leaping and spinning near boats. This is a gentle two-hour cruise from Dhangethi that covers the open water outside the lagoon, with the captain watching for dolphins and keeping the boat at a distance that does not disturb them.
The cruise runs into sunset, so bring a camera. Dolphin sightings can't be promised, but the evening light over the atoll is a good reason to be on the water either way.
Itinerary
Board at the jetty

Looking for dolphins
The captain scans the open water; if a pod is found, the boat keeps a calm, steady distance.
